And as for the quote, I think that's a bit overboard. How many Oregon players have gone on to become anyone in the NFL? The guy wasn't stacked with talent compared to some of the big dogs yet was still in the mix every year. If he could get that out of role players, imagine what he can do with NFL talent.

He might not but I'll definitely say I'm excited to see what could happen.

Oregon up until the past 3-4 years or so recruited lower tier guys and coached them up to their system. only recently have they started landing big stud type players and doing it consistently. Dion Jordan being one of them.

they've put out some solid RB's and a couple of nice TE's and DB's.

Texas gets their pick of any top guy in Texas every year. they have most of their class wrapped up by fall practice. they rarely land less than a 4 star player.

Mack Brown had just got too damn comfortable and turned his staff into a country club instead of keeping his foot on the gas and keeping the Texas product elite.

SEC vs. the crumbling Big 12. Easy decision. Add in Von Miller, Luke Joeckel, and Damontre Moore as top 5 draft picks...there ya go.

Austin is 3 hours from both Dallas and Houston. College Station is also closer to Dallas and real close to Houston.

There's simply no reason in the world Texas shouldn't be in the top 10, if not the top 5 rankings every single year in football. I'm not sure why Mack Brown hasn't been fired yet.

Hey I agree, while I'm a huge Buff fan seeing them get their asses kicked each time almost made me into a longhorn fan. But they always fold in crunch time.

My daughter went to school in OK, used to hate them also but both OSU and OU have eaten into the wins of UT. Both have outstanding programs built with ltsnof Texas talent.

Football in TX is almost a religion, how Mack is still here is beyond me.

The Atlanta Falcons are likely to release running back Michael Turner, who is scheduled to make $6.9 million this season, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Friday.

Turner, 31, rushed for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season as the Falcons reached the NFC Championship Game. It marked the fifth straight season in which he reached double figures in TDs.

Turner split time in 2012 with with second-year pro Jacquizz Rodgers. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Turner was on the field for 503 snaps and Rodgers took part in 502.

A two-time Pro Bowler, Turner has spent the last five seasons with the Falcons after playing his first four years with the San Diego Chargers. He has rushed for 7,338 yards and 66 TDs in 134 career games.

The New England Patriots have agreed to terms with QB Tom Brady on a three-year contract extension that will run through the 2017 season. Brady will receive a $3 million signing bonus and is scheduled to make $7 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2017. Brady was scheduled to count $43.6 million against the salary cap in 2013 and 2014 before the extension but now will count $28.6 million in 2013 and 2014.
