K-State...just a terrible football team. We allowed a few big plays (pick six, one long TD throw, kickoff return) to keep it respectable a lot of the way, but this could have been almost as bad as last year. Our rushing game and pass rush dominated this game. It was fun to watch, though I think it was probably a combination of the Cats suckiness and our noticeable improvement in those areas.
It will be interesting to see where they go with the new coach they hire. The Prince years started with promise (recruiting Freeman, shocking Texas) and then turned ugly quick. Always fun to beat up on them, though. |

One of the few consistently good things about the last few years has been making Freeman our b****. 0-3 against us. Pretty sure he hasn't beat KU or MU in the last couple years either. But he beat Texas twice! ![]() |

Pretty much official: Gator Bowl vs. Clemson. I would of loved to play Florida St for old times sake (and apparently some Noles fans feel they got screwed with Clemson jumping them to land the bowl), but I'm glad to see us in a New Years Day bowl. Should be good.

FSU fans donīt seem to be all that mad to go to Jacksonville so I guess itīs understandable that the Gator Bowl isnīt too keen on hosting the Noles after they more or less failed to show up for the game v us in Jacksonville.

LARAMIE, Wyo. -
University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman and University of Nebraska Athletics Director Tom Osborne announced jointly on Tuesday that the Wyoming Cowboys and Nebraska Huskers have signed a contract for a three-game football series to begin in Laramie, Wyo., on Sept. 24, 2011. The second and third games in the series are to be played in Lincoln, Neb., on Aug. 31, 2013, and Sept. 17, 2016. Nebraska's trip to Wyoming in 2011 will be the first appearance ever by the Huskers in Laramie. "It is exciting to play a program with the tradition of Nebraska, while at the same time renewing a regional series against an old rival," said Burman. "I believe this is the kind of series our fans want us to play, and to be able to bring Nebraska to Laramie for the first time in history will be a special game for Cowboy fans. "I want to thank Tom Osborne and Bo Pelini (Nebraska head football coach) for working with us to make this series a reality." http://wyomingathletics.cstv.com/spo...120208aab.html |

I didn't think about the proximity thing. FSU probably isn't a particularly enthused fan base either, coming fresh off a beat down at home by a hated rival. Bowls tend to favor teams coming off a win (which Clemson is) because the fans are excited and more open to traveling to the game.

Suh came on huge this season. The d-line should be a strength next year if he can keep it up.

Hell yeah! Great way to end the season. Our offense did its usual big game thing in the first half(terrible turnovers, no running game), but the defense played out of its mind.
All 21 Clemson pts came off turnovers, and the defense only really got burned on one play. Outstanding. They not only kept us in this game until Ganz could get it together, they stayed strong the whole way. I think I might cry. Clemson's QB seemed decent enough, but he had zero pocket presence, and we exploited that perfectly. Also, big props to Ganz for bouncing back in the second half and to the staff for sticking with the run, even when it wasn't going anywhere. I still hate some of the playcalling (slow developing runs to the outside that almost never worked), but sticking with Castille paid off with some huge runs. Suh and the rest of the d-line showed just how much they improved under the coaching of a competent defensive staff. Beastly. Hopefully Suh stays another year--I fear NFL scouts may lure him away. I'll try to collect my overall thoughts on Year 1 of the Pelini era in a later post, but this was a real nice way to end things and a positive sign that they seemed to improve considerably over the layoff. GBR! |

Eh, he made a couple nice throws, but on the whole was incapable of handling any pressure. Stay in the pocket, son. At least don't run backward.
If Ganz hadn't fumbled on that option or given up that really bad INT at the end of the half, we win in a laugher. This year's team hasn't gone a game without making costly mistakes, though, so I guess that's something to work on. |

Congrats on the bowl win. I was flipping through saw the Nebraska INT with a minute left in the first half changed channels to another game and saw the score was 14-3. I thought what the crap that was a quick change. Didn't watch after that. But nice way to end your guys' season.
