38-0. Pederson, Callahan, everyone should be fired at halftime. They could bring in a high school football staff at this point and we could only do better. There is enough talent on this team that there is no excuse for them to get blown out at home. I doubt many fans stay for the second half. The sellout streak could end next week. Rock bottom? Well there are five more games left this season...

On a happier topic, who can we potentially get for a new coach? Assuming Pederson gets canned, can we get Pelini to come back as head coach? The fans would embrace that move immediately.

Didn't Pelini come out and say he believed he was just given a token interview the last time around? I thought he didn't leave on the best of terms.

Yeah, but most of his beef is with Peterson... he loved the Nebraska players and fans....

Maybe replace Peterson with Osborne and bring in Pelini?

That's my wet dream at this point. I read an interview with Pelini where he said if he had been hired he had his offensive coordinator lined up, someone who wanted to be on his staff. The OC? Lane Kiffin. Obviously hindsight in 20/20, but Pelini has shown at every stage that he knows what he is doing, and certainly is not lacking as a motivator.

Did the Nebraska fans applaud Oklahoma State after the game?

The rumor is.... and at this point it is still a rumor.... that Steve Peterson and three assistants are gone and that Tom Osborne will be the interm AD. I wouldn't be suprised if it were true or if it were just a rumor at this point.

As much as I want that to be true, I'm not holding my breath. It will be a lot of money to payout with their contacts, and I don't know how quick the people writing their checks will be to pull the plug. Then again, I can't see any scenario in which the boosters and major alums allow SP to be in charge next year, so I guess they could do it asap. Also if this happens, Callahan becomes the ultimate lame duck, as there would be close to 0% chance that he returns next year.

Do you seriously think that there´s a chance Peterson is fired during the season?

What I don't get, is why did Callahan run the ball so much in the 2nd half? Was he try to keep the score from getting worse or was he just trying to help out his defense by keeping them off the field. Either way he didn't give his team even a chance to come back in the 2nd half. Was hoping for a better showing from the Big12 North this weekend. Oh well~!!

Better to fire the AD now then at the end of the season. Name the new AD ASAP so that the new AD can find the new HC. So husker fans, do you think if Osborne was named the new AD it would be a long term thing? Not too many 70 year old ADs out there. I suspect it Osborne is hired it'd be as an interim AD.

Peterson would be #1A) on my list followed by Cosgrove. I was sad that he didn't take the LB job for the Vikings.

See the other thread. From what I´ve read, Pearlman says Pedey is the only casualty right now. Having his butt-buddy Pederson fired doesn´t bode well for Callahan´s long term future in Lincoln tho.

Man oh man, oh things can change in just six weeks. Rockies looked to be dead in the water and the Huskers just extended Callahan.

yeah, I see this extension as being a good thing. It hasn't been an instant turnaround, but we are definitely settled into the new offensive system and have opened a great recruiting pipeline with this staff. Cally will need a few big wins before he convinces everyone they made the right decision in bringing him in, but he has shown he can replenish our talent level enough to earn some more time to build his program.
and then the worms finally turns

It's crazy how fast these things can turn. In 2005 the Buffs were 7-2 and ranked int he top 20 and Gary Barnett had just turned down an extension. Then one fateful day in Ames Iowa, everything came crashing down. the Buffs lost, and proceeded to lose the next three games which led to Barnett's firing. Prior to that ISU game, the Buff faithful thought the team was going somewhere, only to have it all change and go careening of course in 4 short weeks.
