To answer your question, he took them to a BCS National Championship Game. I don't think Callahan will ever take them to BCS National Championship Game, let alone win a Big XII Championship.

Here is how I would rate Nebraska in the Big XII.
OU
Texas
Tech
A&M
Nebraska
Iowa State
Colorado
Mizzu
KSU
Kansas
OSU
Baylor

how could you rate us fifth. no logic in this. first off A&M had a worst record than us last year, and they will be getting a new qb as we will be improved from last year. second It's biased that you have four south teams above any north team because the talant gap between the North and south teams will be more even this year. Texas loses inVINCEable and these are the games they would have lost without him. 1.osu. 2.a&m and they probably would not have made the championshp game if they had not won those games or had vy. without vince mack brown and texas are once again underacheiver. like when they had applewhite and simms, and rw and cedric benson and roy williams. Tech has no D, just an offensive juggernaut and they lost their best rb this year. I could say they lost their qb too, but they always sh1t out qb's anyways. I agree Ou will be one or two. they have a good team. If you think South teams are that much ahead of the north then they will just beat up on eachother and finish with worst confrence records than the North teams. so theoretically the North teams would be better. ha. anyway, you do have us first in the North so I guess we will see Ou in the big 12 championship game. and we are the best team in the North. don't underestimate us. Michigan did and look what happend to them. and you are definatly underestimating the huskers and calahan. he is doing great things for us. as far as the solich thing, He did get us to a championship game. I don't want to take that away form him. but he did it with osbornes players for the most part. then the jamal lord era began and we were good but not great. solich is a good coach. just a horrible horrible recruiter. we could not win a championship with the players he brought in. Nebraska is about winning championships. calahan is a great coach and a great recruiter.

He took them to a title game two years after taking over a National Championship team....... they then got throttled by a much more talented Miami team. They didn't even sniff a title after that game.... and each years recruits were getting worse.

It's funny most condemn Callahan for getting blown out in a superbowl, but praise Solich when he did the same in a NC game? It's much easier to ride the wave of your predesessor in college ball than it is in the pros.

Actually, you can't argue with that ranking at this juncture. I do believe that NU was the best team in the Big 12 North at the end of the season, but how they will perform against the South is up in the air until they play the games.

One key to NUs season will be the health of Zac Taylor. If he goes down with an injury for any length of time, they will be in trouble. So far the back up Harrison Beck has not grasped the offense well enough to step in.

Ah yet another highly intelligent post from some disgruntled CU fan.

Son, if you're going to post on here, at least have an arguement. We can take the husker bashing as long as it's more than "huskers suck" (in my best O'Doyle rules voice). Take Nuggs, Master_Pain, Faderproof, hell at times even Saul can make a logical arguement, and we Husker fans have the utmost respect for these guys, well most of them. So you're welcome here, just bring a bit more to the table than did your dad with the gene pool.

thanks, and have a nice day!

It's when you take good position coaches and try to make them cordinators or head coaches that you have problems. (see John Blake )

By the way.... I think he looks pretty good in red.........

You guys are in for a rude surprise if you even think he's a decent position coach.

Saturday's scrimmage.

The Huskers practiced short-yardage and goal-line situations before working offense against defense for almost 90 minutes. The No. 1 offense operated mostly against the No. 2 defense, and vice versa.

Callahan said Glenn's ability to gain yards after contact most excites him. He knows how to "finish off runs." That trait should serve him well in the fall.

Lucky looked good too. Scored the only rushing td and carried the load during a 14 play drive against the number one d.

Great read.

Ndamukong Suh is a monster – To listen to Suh himself, he’s got a long ways to go in his progression in regard to his technique. That may be true, but ask any of the interior linemen what they think of trying to handle this young man as it is. They can’t and more often than not don’t, and it’s only the double team that keeps this sophomore out of the backfield almost every play. What a future this young man has.

With Carriker and Turner, it would be good to get a guy inside that has to be double teamed to be stopped. Overalll the D should be improved from last years team, which is great news for us.

Sounds like the o-line is making some improvements, which could be a big plus. Taylor's toughness was the only thing that allowed him to survive some games last year. Hopefully we can take advantage of a year when everyone else is in major transition.

yeah. our O line has to be better from last year. Im glad they are improving. poor zach got killed last year. but he's a tough SOB and takes the hits and sacks. he did pretty good last year. think of what he could do with a little more time. or a lot more time.

Only Baylor allowed more sacks in the B12 then us. I think it was two more. Taylor was sacked 48 times. He is tough and it will help him when it comes to NFL time.

yeah. he's tough.taylor was sacke a lot and I rembember watching the bowl game this year and the announcers asked him if he ever got in their face and yelled at his lineman for being sacked so often. and he said. "no I can't do that" and somthing to the effect of they are trying their hardest and I know they are adjusting to the new offense. or somthing like that. so as much as he got sacked and as much little time he had to work with when he snapped the ball he never blamed them. I respect that.

Chris Patrick and Matt Slauson have been stellar so far this spring at OT. It's the inside guys that are still somewhat of a question mark. Starting C Kurt Mann has been injured and not able to play this spring. The best athlete of the bunch Lydon Murtha has been running with the second team.... all 6-foot-8, 325 pounds (with a 4.8 forty) of him.

Five ****ing years ago is right, and it still seems to be all Buff fans talk about. There's a reason Husker fans won't be talking about "30-3" in hushed tones 5 years from now...because we expect to kick colorado's ass.

Dude, seriously, that win has been your fleeting claim to fame for 5 years now. That's like KC still bragging when Montana beat Elway. Its far beyond relevance here, the only thing that should resonnate in your mind is, "fu@k, we got thumped last year by our arch-rivals and we're clearly headed in opposite directions. They're getting better and we still suck. But wait, we always have 1991!"

Well, you guys have not won at home since 2000. That better?
