Obvously anything can happen, but the only real advantage I could see him getting by going to KSU would be earlier playing time. I don't think he is a guy that steps away from a challenge however and that he stays with NU.

Todays Josh Freeman quote of the day "I'm committed to Nebraska 100 percent," he said. "There is nothing else I can really say. Nobody has shown me anything that has proven they were better than the school I chose, and frankly I don't think there will be anyone to do so."

If his two final choices were Nebraska and KSU then clearly he likes taking on water either way.

Still better than the ship that hasn't even left Port Bloomington yet.

ne of the biggest shockers of the recruiting process came down the pipe as Grandview, Mo., quarterback Josh Freeman pulled a big switch after being committed to Nebraska for several months and only days left before his graduation. One team made a late push and in the end it paid off as the top signal caller will be calling those signals for another Big 12 team.

GUESS WHO?!?

Congrats you got a good one.... I still say NU is on the way up and KSU is moving down. I see NU with at least nine wins next year and that is with USC and Texas on the schedule.

Nice classy move by Freeman by the way... he let the NU staff know about the change via text message "We aren't coming...please don't call."

Oh well... Karma is a b**** and Ron Prince will get his.....

While I was mad at the way he went about it after the school invested two years with him, you can't fault him for going to a place where he can start. Taylor has one more year then Beck has two years. Beck was the number 3 prostyle QB last year so its not like we are lacking in talent at QB. The major thing that we should worry about is Holt. I've read that he really liked Freeman. I'm not sure how true that is though. I've read that the number 11 pro style QB is trying to contact us. Greg McElroy. He's signed with TT but I guess he is pissed about them signing the number 13 QB. While he is only a 3 star it would easy the blow of lossing Freeman.

Some random funny things about Freeman ditching NU:

His dad allegedly contacted coaches via text message to say "We are not coming. Do not call."

100's of Husker fans traveled to Grandview, MO to watch his games.

He ditched NU for...K-STATE!

Funny or classless? Freeman made NU a promise, in return NU promised Freeman that they would not recruit another QB. Alex Cate and several other highly touted QBs were in the picture, but NU kept their word.... Freeman did not. His lack of class should fit in well at KSU.

By the way.... even after losing two four stars yesterday Nebraska still has one more than K-state.... and a five star to boot. We'll see which ship makes it out of Port Bloomington first.....

Hypocrite. NU fans don't mind when others decommit from other schools and commit to NU. Why doesn't it work the other way around? The Husker meltdowns over this have been legendary. I enjoy the way NU fans holds themselves in such high regards.

I agree, NU still has a good recruiting class, but I guess you did not get the "Port Bloomington" joke.

If Freeman is as good as hyped, NU can have Alan Evridge back...

I am concerned about his character, though. I know he's a young kid, but I would feel obligated to NU after they promised not to recruit another QB. However, nobody knew this change in head coaches was going to happen back in June when Freeman orally committed to NU. The prospect of being part of a new era at K-State was probably to good to pass up.

For what its worth the number two QB in the nation Mitch Mustain (a 5*) has been in contact with NU after this happened. It doesn't mean he is going to sign with us but I guess he heard what happened with Freeman and decided that it might be worth a call. He doesn't have a team listed as high so thats a plus. Odds are if we do land a QB this year it will be Greg McElroy.

My problem was not so much the decommit... but the text message? Be a man and at least give the coaches a call. At least Rulon Davis had the stones to call up John Blake and give him the news..... it was hard but that is what men do.

BTW I think the "Husker fans" that were giving Rulon static over his Cal visit need to have their fanship revoked.... better yet let them spend a some time in a dark alley with the ex-marine......

And no... I guess I did not get the Port Bloomington reference.

Evenrude,

Port Bloomington was in reference to Nappy's shot at KSU and NU. A Hoosier fan trying to talk **** on Nebraska or Kansas State is simply amusing.

I thought I was missing a pop-culture reference somewhere. Next time I'm google it instead of looking like an idiot.
