Man our defense is playing good, but we need to stop giving up the big play at the crucial moment.

Anyone notice the same crap for the past couple of years? We beat the division 2 teams in the beginning of the year and then find a way to get ourselves into a mediocrity (at best) dive at the end of the year. I am getting sick of this west coast offense bull$hit! Callahan sucks! I still cannot believe we hired this Fu@k after Solilch went 9-4. Ridiculous!

Other than that play though I don't think you can pin that one on the coaches. Oklahoma has some great athletes and really are a top 10-15 calibur team when Peterson plays.... Nebraska is bringing in some top talent but is still behind the OUs and Texas's in the conferance. Also... I hate to even mention this because I hate complaining about the refs and I don't know that it would have changed the outcome, but what does NU have to do to get a holding call? They lead the nation in sacks yet have very few if any holding calls all year..... and some are just way to freaking obvious to be missed. That's got to be frustrating for the players...... |

Not that I want to fan the flames here gents, but the fans certainly have taken an ugly turn in Lincoln these days. Its a damn shame too since I've always regarded NU fans as some of the classiest (albeit snobby) fans in the college game. I've always respected the fact that they have never lowered themselves to these kinds of activities...
Lets hope these trends dont continue man... http://www.dailynebraskan.com/vnews/.../436598cd64f81 Quote:

Sucks that those fans did that, but everyone has fools like that. Thankfully they are the minority for NU, as well as many other teams.
I dunno what the refs thought Callahan was going to do to "control his fans" though. What do they expect him to do in all honesty? He's there to coach a game, not work stadium security. |

I am sick of hearing about how "NU Fans are the greatest in the country!" Yeah, right. Perhaps the ones in Memorial Stadium, but the ones that go to the road games are always grade A a-holes, with all their "GO BIG RED" ****, and crowing about the glory days. Probably because they can't get tickets to to go the home games, or they aren't hometown NU fans. I know alot of NU fans around here that have never set foot in Memorial stadium, they just rooted for NU when they were a kid. Probably because they were winning.
**** Nebraska. |

However, if it is infact banned by the NCAA, then he should be dealt with according to their rules and regulations. Saulbadguy - Sorry you had a bad experience with some Nebraska fans, but as I said in the post before, there will always be those few that are a-holes. Please don't assume that all NU fans are like that though. |

Saul, you are a good guy, you points are always good on this board and this comment is not reflective of you personally, BUT KState has the WORST fans in the Big XII. Up until 03, you had a trophy case that consisted of nothing, but the way your bandwagon (and yes they are bandwago) fans would taunt, curse, key cars, and scream in your face, one would think you guys might have some kind of foundation to stand on. Sooners are somewhere in the middle with Texas. And yes we do have our dumbasses, but we were selling 75K seats for 25 years...most of Kstates fans didn't even know where Manhattan was until Snyder came to town.. To most KSU fans I say "Hey, act like you have won a few." Then I remember that you haven't! ![]() |

It was embarrasing for for Husker fans (the bottles on the turf).... 'tis true that we are supposed to be above that sort of behaviour and you can bet your ass that I would not have done it. I do understand the frustation though, week after week of non-calls is starting to wear on me too.... I mean point blank, obvious, in your face, game changing calls. I doubt many teams fans would not have done the same thing under the circumstances.... but we are held to a different standard with good reason. I too hope that the trend does not continue..... As for the "throat slash", it is hard to know exactly what was meant by it... it looked more like my 5 year old throwing a fit than a threat towards anyone..... ![]() |

The only real disgusting thing that NU fan pulled (that I can remember) that went way beyond bad taste was the Sal Aunese thing back in '90. Whoever did might have been the lowest class idiot there ever was.

Also, bandwagon is a universal term, unless you are a Cubs fan. Don't act like Blow-U doesn't have their fair share of bandwagon fans. Were you guys selling out Faglord stadium during the Blake and Shellenberger eras? |
