If missing 1 bowl game after 30 consecutive years is a fallen program to you, we obviously have very different views of what a fallen program is.

Osborne saw the writing on the wall. After they found out they couldn't cheat anymore with vast amounts of "walk-ons", it was time for him to go. NU will be good once again, but it will never be dominant like it once was.

And after your 80 year old coach quits KSU will go back to being the bottom feeders of the B12.

It's nice that you guys will be there to keep KSU company.

Yes because we have such a long history of lossing seasons. Past or not this is the only place I have seen that doesn't seem to think that NU is improving. Hell the national pulls still gave us points after our "loss" this week. We dropped 1 spot. I find it funny that people dogged us for not scoring points against the crappy teams but now when our O is going we still suck. I'm done with this thread for now I'll comeback at the end of the year. Oh Nuggs it looks like DenFan won't be getting that easy money you claimed this year. Hmmm I never would have guess that.

How do you call that cheating?

And I don't think that had anything with Osborne leaving, he's not the kind of guy to bail out because things wouldn't be "dominant." Hell the guy coached for like 23 years before winning a National title.

Nothing personal DBroncos, you know I like ya...

but

Its great to see fans like you who were born with a tailormade elite program to begin with, feel the effects of an up and down rebuild of their teams if only because at last you know what most of the rest of us have gone through with our respective colleges over the years.

Mind you, its not that you are bandwagon fans for having such good squads over the years, but watching your organization and its fanbase struggle with the adversity with your team for the first real time is something that I thought I'd never see. I cant say I havent enjoyed it a little. But that's just sheer envy on my part with the fantastic success that Nebraska football enjoyed for three decades.

Same thing goes with the old Sooners squads of the 90's. Man I did love watching their fans feel the wrath of up and coming teams for the better part of that decade... Everyone should be made to suffer with their teams sometimes. Makes them better fans in the long run IMO.

I'd have to agree, and I'm a Husker fan. Can't say I've enjoyed the last couple years, but it makes you appreciate the great teams. Kind of like the Broncos. Both were at their peak around the same time, so I got a little spoiled. A few thin years clear the bandwagon. Hopefully more good days lie ahead for both .

He is a bandwagon fan. He only likes NU football. He is a UK basketball fan. Tell me what isn't bandwagon about that?

I'm usually at some sort of sporting event. I rarely ever post on the weekends, on any board.

On Saturdays, if MSU isn't in town, I am at a bar watching football, if they are, it's obvious. But on Sundays I am on my couch watching the Broncos. Kind of hard to make it to the games from Bozeman.

I know the history of NU football, I just dont care to hear about it when trying to justify this season or the previous one or the possible future ones, you guys have a top 5 program of all-time and going 5-6 and rebuilding is certainly falling down from that prestige.

I used to admire Nebraska football. I still do. They won't be down for long. However, I lost a lot of respect for the program when this man was hired:

I know programs like Oklahoma, USC and Notre Dame had to change their traditional offensive philosophies in order to compete in today's world. Even though your Raider scum coach had a top notch recruiting class, WCO, Callahan and Lincoln just doesn't seem right. Bring back the corn fed linemen and bust the ball down somebody's throat!
