He sucks, has for the past few years. Would have much rather gotten Freeney or Abraham.

Sucked to the tune of 9.5 sacks last season.

I wouldn't say he sucks, he did have 9.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries last year.
I just don't know where we are going to play him.

This was a nice signing....Phillips has always been able to get after the QB.

6'3 and 250 pounds....31 years old, will be 32 when the season starts.

69.5 career sacks and 20 forced fumbles.

Had an under the radar season in 2012 with 9.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.

I'm sure Fox and Del Rio will find ways to use him.

Kind of a poor man's Neil Smith type signing, as Shaun Phillips was always in the middle of the San Diego/Denver rivalry.

Maybe Denver can help Shaun Phillips get himself a Super Bowl ring or two.

Its funny how a guy with 11 sacks last yr in unreplaceable. But a guy with 9.5 is total suck. What is with this board this is a great signing. He will only hit the field on passing situations and he has Miller on the other side. I bet bewtween him and ayers, same amount of plays as doom, will be be better then Doom. Why because Doom stunk holding his own in the run game. Elway is a great GM he works FA, the draft, and doesn't ever seem to panic.

Maybe Ayers will start and he'll play on passing downs as a rushing DE.

Most likely put in as an edge rusher.

Like the signing especially if injuries happen. Good depth that can get to the QB.

Broncos aren't going to pay Freeney 6 mil to play on 3rd downs. Its just not going to happen. They want that situational pass rusher to be someone they get for 2-3 million at the most.

So we signed the ****tiest of the three available big pass rushing FA's.

I know Charger fans didn't give a **** about him going.

Cool!

Aside from Rivers, this guy was the antichrist for me with San Diego.

Hopefully he can make me like him.

Yep and with Von and this very stout Dline we now have, him rotating with Ayers will boost his stats as well.

Last year he had no Von Miller on the other side bringing the heat ... Give Quanterius time to heal and then they can play tag team rush from the right while Wolfe and Von lock down the left side.. This can work and he could be a good two to three year player for us.

Plus he knows all of Phillis' weaknesses ( so do the rest of the Broncos for that matter)

Ayers and Wolfe will start at DE. Sly/Vickerson/Knightley will rotate at DT which is a big dline people. That will not be fun to run against. We will see on 3rd downs Wolfe kick inside, Ayers hit the bench, and Phillips come in to rush the passer. Then of course some player like Malik Jackson, or some rookie hotshot could get in on the action also. But mainly Broncos needed a vet pass rusher and all the fans being calm knew it would happen.

Phillips is a turd though. A guy who goes around town looking for trouble at night. He was one of the players that I despised the most in the NFL.
