On PFT Live, Dwight Freeney said Peyton Manning already is recruiting Freeney to join the Broncos. |

He honestly seems like the last person we need. We already have two guys who do what he does very well.

Freeney would be a great insurance pickup if the price was right. Sure we have two guys that do what he does but what if one of them get injured? You can never have enough pass rushers.

When your pass rush goes MIA in playoffs no wonder Manning is doing this.

I wouldn't mind Freeny if the price is right. You can never have too many pass rushers. The way Miller is being used now in the 5-2, if you had Freeny on one side, Doom on the other and then Miller also providing pressure, you'd have scary speed off the edges. Put in a couple of big bodied, space eating DTs up front and I think the opposing offense will be on it's heels all day.

What's the right price? Seems to me that money should go to definite needs instead of back up insurance in case someone goes down

But, This offseason IMO FO has to go all in fix as many issues as they can and make a solid SB run next 2 yrs. We are against the clock time to be aggressive. If we can squeeze Freeney in fine if not oh well. I expect a Dawkins or Urlacher type signing. If not FO thinks we are close no need for such signings. How much could he really be looking for, at 33 years old, with 13 sacks in his last 30 games? I think he would be a great fit as a rotational guy/spot starter. It's unrealistic to think any other team is going to sign him to a big bucks deal and make him a cornerstone of a defense. I could see Freeney signing a fair, cap-friendly deal, to ride off into the sunset with Manning. At this stage, what else could he be looking for?

Been barking on the mane for a few weeks saying the Broncos need another real 4-3 DE.
1. Replace Bannan with Wolfe 2. Get a real 4-3 DE 3. other stuff 4. Super Bowl Boom. |
