Default NObama’s Media Parrot Demolished on CNN

Obama’s Media Parrot Demolished on CNN

Quote:
A question from ABC’s Jake Tapper asking the President, “Where have you been” on guns and security, is getting some attention in the media. But we have the answer to that. The NObama Administration was sending guns to Mexico and failing to protect our diplomats in such places as Benghazi, Libya. The administration’s record on violence and security is a bad one. There is no doubt that Obama’s policy has made people more vulnerable to violent death.

Tapper, however, seems to be the only reporter wondering why Obama was AWOL on the issue for the last four years. Again, the reason is fairly obvious: Obama didn’t want to take on the NRA, a mass movement of millions of gun owners which exists to defend the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Although as a candidate in 2008 he had spoken disparagingly of people who “cling” to their guns, he didn’t want to make any new enemies before his re-election victory. Now, because of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Obama believes he has the opportunity to go on the offensive and crush his political enemies.

The evidence, though, indicates that his new “gun control” plan will make the public even less secure than they already are.

Again, if there are any doubts on this, look at the Fast & Furious gun-running scandal and the cover-up of what really happened at Benghazi. This administration simply can’t be trusted to protect the American people.

It seems strange that Tapper and the rest of the media don’t understand nObama’s agenda. Perhaps they don’t want to accept the obvious.

Obama is counting on the media to do his dirty work—to demonize constitutional conservatives and intimidate them into silence. This seemed to work for a while, as the NRA acted like it was in hiding in the aftermath of the killings. It was as if the NRA was somehow implicated in the killings, a point that MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell was trying to make on the air, without any evidence whatsoever. His rants, however, do not compare to those of Piers Morgan on CNN. He has come across as somebody in need of the sort of psychological help now being talked about for potential crazies.

Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America (GOA) deserves credit for going on the CNN Piers Morgan program on December 18 and calmly and rationally taking the arrogant British host completely apart. The exchange is a classic in terms of Pratt debunking every tired liberal claim about “gun control” and noting that the real solution is more security and putting weapons in the right hands for their deterrent and safety value. Morgan came across as a bully who was confronted and exposed as a stupid coward.

At the school, Pratt noted, the adults and children were “reduced to waiting to be murdered.” It appears that the killer did away with himself only when he realized the police were coming after him. By then, 26 people were dead.

Losing the argument, the British import finally resorted to name calling and insults . But Pratt had the last laugh, ripping Morgan’s “role model,” the Hitler-appeaser and “Peace in Our Time” British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. His point was that you meet force with force, a lesson that Britain, America and the allies realized during World War II.

CNN is getting higher ratings by exploiting the Sandy Hook tragedy and that may be all that Morgan, Soledad O’Brien and the others at CNN are interested in. I usually don’t watch such obvious exploitation for ulterior motives, which apparently include keeping Morgan and O’Brien in their well-paying jobs posing as people who truly care for the children. But the stakes are now so high that a normally little-watched channel like CNN has to be exposed and challenged.

You cannot watch CNN for long, for example, without seeing a reference to “gun violence,” as if the guns shoot themselves. The term, “semiautomatic assault rifle,” is another favorite on the channel.
Still, it was immensely worthwhile for a figure like Pratt to go on CNN and demolish their “gun control” arguments. The exchange demonstrates that the facts are not on CNN’s side and that their hosts, when challenged, become rather snotty and suffer a form of nervous breakdown. Pratt was not intimidated in the least.

Default What the Looming Port Strike Is Really About

What the Looming Port Strike Is Really About
By Michelle Malkin December 21, 2012 6:55 am

Quote:
It's not about jobs. It's not about safety. It's not about improving dockworkers' living standards. The looming, long-planned East and Gulf Coast port strikes are about protecting Big Labor's archaic work practices and corrupt waterfront rackets.

Are you ready for a fiscal cliff? The union bosses of an estimated 14,500 workers at 15 ports are preparing to send the economy plunging back into recession over productivity and efficiency rules changes. You read that right. Much more on that in a moment. But first, here's what's at stake.

The International Longshoremen's Association's (ILA) grip extends from Boston to Texas to Florida and all points across the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts. The New York-New Jersey ports -- which handle cargo valued at $208 billion -- could come to a standstill. National Retail Federation executive Jonathan Gold issued a desperate statement: "The last thing the economy needs right now is another strike, which would impact all international trade and commerce at the nation's East and Gulf Coast container ports. This is truly a 'container cliff' in the making."

Retailers have begged Big Labor-lovin' President nObama to intervene. Good luck with that. The cozy White House powwow with union bosses immediately after Election Day tells you all you need to know about which side Obama champions.

The United States Maritime Alliance (USMX), which represents 14 Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports, has been bracing for a union-spearheaded shutdown since the summer, when labor negotiations fell apart. The ILA's current contract expired on Sept. 30. Federal mediators granted a 90-day extension that ends on Dec. 29. ILA President Harold Daggett won a unanimous green light earlier this month to call a strike if industry leaders don't give in completely to the union's demands. According to my sources, despite overwhelming industry concessions on wages and benefits, port watchers view the likelihood of a strike at "probably 70 to 85 percent now."

Don't believe the union sob stories. ILA members are among the highest paid union workers in the country. Starting pay for dockworkers is $20 an hour, with a top straight-time pay rate of $32 an hour. Longevity and overtime bonuses are generous, with ILA members earning an average of more than $124,000 a year in wages and benefits.

The sticking points of the heated ILA-USMX talks are "container royalties" (a fee per ton of containerized cargo that carriers pay to ILA members) and "customs and practice." On the New York-New Jersey waterfront, union racketeers have turned archaic work rules into a corrupt system of patronage tied to organized crime. Reporter Carl Horowitz of the National Legal and Policy Center broke down the container royalty dispute this fall: "In 2011 these royalties amounted to $232 million or about $15,500 per worker at Atlantic and Gulf Coast ports. This arrangement was established in 1960 when New York Longshoremen sought to protect themselves against job losses resulting from the introduction of automated cargo container weighing. It's been a ticket for inefficiency."

In other words, it's a ridiculously outdated surcharge on business to cushion the blow of modernity to workers. Unions, of course, siphon off a large chunk of the royalties -- more than $20 million last year alone, according to the Supply Chain Digest. The trade publication points out that "ILA workers receiving those hefty checks today have no real connection to the perceived threat from container traffic to manually loaded freight and handling work that started the whole program in the 1960s."

USMX hasn't even called for eliminating the outdated fees. It just wants to cap them. Under the industry's contract proposal, ILA's average hourly rate would increase to more than $55, including overtime and container royalty. Workers would still not be required to pay premiums on their health care plans like most private employers now require their workers to do.

The additional "customs and practice" that the ILA seeks to preserve are a recipe for corruption. Don't take industry's word for it. This was the conclusion this year of the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor. Decades of favoritism, nepotism and Mafia-friendly hiring practices have bred inefficient and criminal conditions that benefit "a privileged few." The union protects no-show and no-work jobs, 24-hour paid work for 8-hour-a-day-or-less clerks, and unlimited paid vacation for shop stewards. ILA has demanded that multiple crane operators be paid for the work of a single operator. And the commission's hearings exposed ILA bosses tied to mobsters and family members being paid more than $400,000 a year for up to 27 hours a day.

Union bosses and their Occupy Wall Street henchmen will be ratcheting up their rhetoric about "greed" and "fat cats" as they move to ring in the New Year by bringing the American economy to its knees. Now you know the rest of the story.

does anyone on here believe the union waited until 29 DEC to call a strike when the contract was up in SEP a few days before the elections and will not be rewarded by their prez..

The results of an independent investigation released this week probing the Benghazi attack contains information indicating the U.S. mission in Libya was involved in activities outside the diplomatic realm.

The 39-page document uses phraseology and descriptions not previously utilized to describe the facility and the role it may have played in Benghazi.

The report, based on a probe led by former U.S. diplomat Thomas Pickering, calls the facility a “Special U.S. Mission.

Until now, government descriptions routinely referred to the facility as a “mission,” while the news media largely wrongly labeled the building a “consulate.”

The report divulges how the mission’s special “non-status” made providing security to the facility difficult.

Texas Has Had Enough of the War on Christmas

So the Republican lawmaker from Houston has introduced legislation to protect traditional Christmas greetings, decorations and displays in public schools. The bill is appropriately titled, “Merry Christmas Bill.”

“I’m taking these rulings by the Supreme Court and codifying them in a state law to give teachers and administrators a safe harbor to point to when drafting their policies regarding winter celebrations,” Bohac said.

The “Merry Christmas Bill” would afford students and teachers the right to celebrate Christmas on school property with displays including Menorahs, Christmas trees and Nativity scenes. It would also clarify the right of school districts to use traditional greetings such as “Merry Christmas,” Happy Hanukkah,” or “Happy Holidays” on school grounds.

“I think it’s sad that I have to file a bill like this,” Bohac told Fox News. “But because of the censorship going on in our public schools and the fear of litigation teachers live with – I’m trying to provide a measure of protection.”

Bohac said he was inspired to introduce the legislation after a conversation he had with his first grade son. His son told him about their classroom’s holiday tree decorated with holiday ornaments.

Campaign Donation Link in Obama Email About Sandy Hook
Posted on December 21, 2012

You may think that after winning the election, the Obama team should be done raising money for its campaign fund. But Sandy Hook apparently presents a crisis too good to go to waste, so with a new email from David Axelrod, team Obama is using the President’s remarks about the Sandy Hook massacre to raise more money.

The new campaign email carrying the approval of Obama campaign chief David Axelrod urges campaign supporters to watch Obama’s address made at Newton, Connecticut and also features a “donate now” button.

“The next chapter begins today. Stand with President Obama for the next four years,” the email is headlined.

Axelrod doesn’t urge donations in the text of the email, but the “donate now” buttons are both in the email and at the MyBarackObama.com page where team Obama is hosting the video of the speech.

TIME: Obama Appealed to Low-Information Morons
Posted on December 21, 2012
Quote:
Richard Stengel, the TIME Magazine guy, the editor. You know, yesterday he was on Today show, announced Obama as the Person of the Year. He said the reason why they named Obama Person of the of Year is because the no-information voters love the guy. They’re transforming America. They actually said this. TIME magazine said it’s remarkable he’s worth being Person of the Year, ’cause he’s the guy that ended up being able, the first politician to get votes from people who don’t care about anything and who aren’t paying attention. That is worth honoring in 2012, almost 2013 America.

If only we had more people who could get the votes of people who don’t know anything, who don’t care about anything, who aren’t involved, the morons, the low-information voter. This guy’s not through. Stengel was on Charlie Rose last night. The more this guy talks, the better it gets. Now, the reason why the first debate actually did not help Romney is because the low-information voters loved Obama appearing out-of-it. That meant, to the low-information voters, that Obama is not a typical Washington politician, that he doesn’t play the game. The fact that he acted like he wasn’t there and couldn’t a cared less whether he was there was an attractive thing to the low-information voter, and that’s why the TIME magazine guy said these are the people that inspired us to name Obama the Person of the Year.

An Epic Politically Incorrect Christmas Carol

Folks – we’ve already been entertained by the University of Mobile’s spectacular rendition of “Carol of the Bells.” And now – we want to share with you an out-of-this-world version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

This performance is simply mind-blowing. It features 12 guys, a baby, a shout-out to the Alabama Crimson Tide, an epic Star Wars light saber battle — accompanied by a full orchestra and a dreidel.

But the highlight is what they do to the partridge in a pear tree. It happens in the final moments of the video — and I suspect it’s one of the most politically incorrect — albeit hilarious things I’ve seen.

Christmas arrives this year at a time when our nation is on the brink of the fiscal cliff. With time running out for President Obama and Congress to reach an agreement, this Christmas Eve we bring to you 2012 twist on Clement Clarke Moore’s famous poem, “A Visit from St. Nicholas.” It was produced by Public Notice as part of its Bankrupting America project.

The poem was sent to members of Congress and President Obama “to lift their spirits during the final weeks of negotiations and hopefully inspire some responsibility.” We hope you enjoy it. Have a safe and festive Christmas Eve.

’Twas the night before Cliff-mas, and all through the House
Not a member was working, no ideal to espouse;
Their offices closed, the members all gone,
No solution for a budget plan had yet to be drawn.

Our Congress had spent a year feuding again,
While uncertainty and poor growth plagued businessmen;
The economy had slowed, unemployment was high,
Things weren’t looking up for a taxpayer, like I.

Today, District of Columbia federal Judge Emmett Sullivan dismissed the frivolous lawsuit filed by Common Cause and Representatives Mike Michaud (D–ME), Hank Johnson (D–GA), John Lewis (D–GA), and Keith Ellison (D–MN) claiming that the Senate’s rule on filibustering is somehow unconstitutional. They were also joined by three illegal aliens who claimed they were “denied a path to American citizenship because of the repeated Senate filibusters of the House-passed DREAM Act.”

Common Cause argued that Rule 22—which requires a vote of 60 senators to proceed with or close debate on bills or presidential nominations and a two-thirds vote to proceed with or close debate on proposed amendments to the Senate rules—is unconstitutional because it is “inconsistent with the principle of majority rule.”

Of course, under the Common Cause formulation of majority rule, the Senate itself would be “unconstitutional” given that every state has two senators no matter how small or large they are in population. Obviously, representation in the Senate is not based on majoritarian principles
.

Consumer confidence, which helped nudge President Barack Obama to re-election victory in November, has dipped again to its lowest level since July in the midst of the Christmas retail season, news agencies report:

Marshal Cohen, chief research analyst at NPD Inc., a market research firm with a network of analysts at shopping centers nationwide, Estimates customer traffic over the weekend was in line with the same time a year ago, but that shoppers seem to be spending less.

“There was this absence of joy for the holiday,” Cohen said. “There was no Christmas spirit. There have been just too many distractions.

Foremost among the causes is concern about the impact of the looming “fiscal cliff,” which will bring both tax hikes and spending cuts. President Obama has abandoned negotiations for his vacation in Hawaii, and GOP leaders were unable last week to unite their caucus behind a compromise proposal that conceded tax hikes on those earning more than $1 million annually. Barring a late breakthrough, the “fiscal cliff” will happen.

Congressional battle lines hardened Sunday over firearms restrictions, laying the foundation for what will likely be a fight over any proposed new gun laws.

Speaking Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. How 'bout that Senator Crapo, lonestar?

Audits of businesses for illegal immigrants rising
Posted on December 24, 2012 by Cowboy Byte

Quote:
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement reached its highest number yet of companies audited for illegal immigrants on their payrolls this past fiscal year.

Audits of employer I-9 forms increased from 250 in fiscal year 2007 to more than 3,000 in 2012. From fiscal years 2009 to 2012, the total amount of fines grew to nearly $13 million from $1 million. The number of company managers arrested has increased to 238, according to data provided by ICE.

The investigations of companies have been one of the pillars of President Barack Obama’s immigration policy.

When Obama recently spoke about addressing immigration reform in his second term, he said any measure should contain penalties for companies that purposely hire illegal immigrants. It’s not a new stand, but one he will likely highlight as his administration launches efforts to revamp the nation’s immigration system.

“Our goal is compliance and deterrence,” said Brad Bench, special agent in charge at ICE’s Seattle office, but again it’s part of the deterrence method. If companies know we’re out there, looking across the board, they’re more likely to bring themselves into compliance.”

Default Man Receives Disability Payments Due To Heavy Metal Addiction

Rock On: Man Receives Disability Payments Due To Heavy Metal Addiction
Posted on December 23, 2012

Roger Tullgren is so into heavy metal it’s sick. Seriously though folks, some say its a chronic condition.

Tullgren, a 42-year-old resident of Hässleholm in southern Sweden, rocks out so hard that three separate psychologists have said his heavy metal obsession requires he receive disability benefits to “avoid being discriminated against,” he told Swedish newspaper The Local. And now the country’s Employment Service says they’ll pay part of his salary so he can spend more time rocking out.

Tullgren’s obsession is pretty intense. He went to 300 heavy metal shows last year, according to the Globe and Mail. The first time he rocked out to Sabbath: Age two.

Some experts say such a classification only enables Tullgren’s obsession, but he isn’t the first to claim disability benefits on unusual grounds. In California, the decidedly un-Metal Stanley Thornton Jr. made headlines when the Social Security administration agreed to classify his “adult baby” lifestyle as a disability, allowing him to receive benefits, according to New York Daily News.

Gov’t Motors Employees to Receive Bonuses up to $7,000 Each

Profit-sharing bonuses for United Auto Workers’ members at Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) and Government Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) are expected to be at least as large as last year’s payout at Government Motors and larger than the year-ago bonuses paid at Ford. Approximately 55,000 GM hourly workers and 40,000 Ford employees are in line for the payments.

GM workers can expect bonuses of between $5,500 and $7,000, and Ford’s employees could receive a payment of more than $8,000 each, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal. The payments are based on a formula that gives workers a $1 bonus for every $1 million in North American operating profit at the two companies.

U.S. auto sales are on track to top 14.5 million units in 2012, up 14% over last year’s sales total. In the first three quarters of the year, GM has posted operating profit of $5.55 billion and Ford’s profit totals nearly $6.5 billion. And the fourth quarter looks good too

Default Former Men’s College Basketball Player Returns To The Court, As A Woman

ormer Men’s College Basketball Player Returns To The Court, As A Woman
Posted on December 23, 2012

The women’s basketball team at Mission College expected the bleachers to be full and the hecklers ready when its newest player made her home court debut.
In the days leading up to the game, people had plenty to say about 6-foot-6-inch, 220-pound Gabrielle Ludwig, who joined the Lady Saints as a mid-season walk-on and became, according to advocates, the first transsexual to play college hoops as both a man and a woman.

Coach Corey Cafferata worried the outside noise was getting to his players, particularly the 50-year-old Ludwig.

A pair of ESPN radio hosts had laughed at her looks, referring to her as “it.” And online threats and anonymous calls prompted the two-year college to assign the Navy veteran of Operation Desert Storm a safer parking space next to the gym and two police guards.

Last week, Ludwig gathered her 10 teammates at practice and offered to quit. This was their time to shine, she told the group of 18-, 19- and 20-year-olds. She didn’t want to be a distraction for the team. The other women said if Ludwig, whom they nicknamed “Big Sexy” and “Princess,” didn’t play, they wouldn’t either.
