Jackson wins with an RBI single in the 9th. 3-5 with a triple, a run and an RBI today...color me impressed with someone I have been down on the past few years.

Austin Jackson has been retooling his swing and he looked pretty good in spring training.

I heard that as well but spring training is spring training. If he can keep it up in July I'll be on board. I'm a Jackson skeptic. I hope he proves me wrong.

I hate all these day games early in the season.

I want to go home, spark one up, grill out, and drink a few beers while the Tigers are on in the evening.

Santana and Halladay both pitched shutouts with the opposong pitcher only allowing one run: Bedard and Hanson. Tough way to get a loss, and the Rox are going to get killed in opening series with Guthrie.

If he doesn't cut down on the strikeouts this year, Detroit would be smart to move him down to the bottom of the lineup.

That said, I get the feeling he will make a lot better contact this year and cut down on the number of strikeouts.

Same thing they should have done with Granderson instead of moving him, IMO. But you can't have a leadoff hitter who strikes out 175 times a season.

Just watched the Dodgers take the Padres, 5-3. Go Dodgers!

I haven't really been into baseball for years after being a fanatic (and Little Leaguer) growing up. The strike years kind of took it out of me. Feel like I'm getting back into it. I still have that Dodger blue blood in my veins. Magic Johnson was sitting with McCourt, watching the game. It's a new day in Dodgerland.

Been a great start for the Tribe...2 absolute gems by Masterson and Ubaldo ruined...Chris Perez blows a 3 run lead in top of 9th on Thursday and Blue Jays went on to win in 16. Then today Ubaldo tosses another gem and Tribes offense gives him little run support as again blue Jays win in extra innings.

Only 2 games so wob't panic, but hate to see two great pitching performances be wasted.

I'm an optimistic Indians fan and even I say that the tribe needs a lot of things to go right for them and a few things to go wrong for Tigers in order to win the AL Central.

That extra wildcard helps this year cause tribe could win 85-88 games, wont be enough to win the division but could sneak in to playoffs.
