Default Remington files for bankruptcy

Gun maker Remington, America's oldest, files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

America's oldest gun manufacturer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to court papers filed in Delaware late Sunday.

The move by Remington Arms Co. and its parent, Remington Outdoors, comes amid slumping sales at the firm founded more than 200 years ago.

It also follows student-led rallies across the United States calling for stricter gun laws after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., in February. Hundreds of thousands of people participated in "March for our lives" events on Saturday.

They're still kicking themselves that Hillary lost.

Now there's no way to frighten the rubes into believing the libruls are coming for their guns.

That's pretty misleading, since Remington's been planning this bankruptcy filing since well before the shooting ever occurred.

I think that's mostly over. But what really happened is sales tanked once Trump was elected and Remington was way over-leveraged to absorb the hit.

You'd think, but I think the guy who runs the equity fund that owns Remington was a pretty big Trump guy.

Just need to hold out until Nov or so, when the grandstanding will perk up sales again.

Shooters are sitting on hoards of ammo. 9 MM 223. And 308. were sold bu the thousands to this small group of people. They have bunkers in their in baSeimiant and bug out shelters full to the brim and more than they can shoot in a lifetime.

Iím pretty sure the safety failure on their bolt action rifles are to blame for their demise not a bunch of clowns walking around on Saturday with p***Y hats.

I do like their newer 1911ís for the price though, I got one their R1 enhanced .45 1911s and for 600 bucks itís the best value for a 1911 on the market. Shoots and feels as good as my $2000 one. you cant beat a 870 shotgun either, although I feel like my wing master from the 60ís or 70ís that my father gave me is a much higher quality shotgun than the defender I bought a few years ago but itís sorta an apples to oranges comparison.

Itís almost as if flooding the market with guns doesnít make good business sense

Also: corporate social responsibility is a real thing. Cerberus Capital tried to unload their stake in this turd a week after Sandy Hook. No one wanted it then and no one wants it now

My wife's cousin is a gun dealer. He made a killing while Obama was in office. It's definitely slowed down now that there isn't this frenzy to "get em while you can".

Little ironic that maybe there are hundreds of thousands or maybe even Millions of guns that aren't out in the public with Trump being elected.

Rmsanger owning extra brass is like owning a valuable commodity. Not sure what your "knock" is there. I see nothing wrong with being prepared either.

Again back to my statistics. People around here have so much fear of the "not job" with the gun but yet it's very likely that many of the posters of this forum will die of a heart disease of some sort. For the 10th time I could care less if they want to limit a magazine to 10 rounds. Great no problem.

Just think about your health next time you scarf down a double bacon cheeseburger and swallow it down with a 64 ounce coke. Obesity is a real brutal mass murder of millions upon millions! Makes Hitler and stalin numbers seem almost insignificant!!!!

Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good steak and am not a tofu eating snowflake but everything in moderation!

Bed wetters who are too scared to buy a sandwich without a gun are easy to frighten...

Cool story, needs more aliens.

At any rate, the "hypocrite" charge only works if (a) I support a ban on shotguns, or (b) I open carry.

You should just stick to spamming the board with Sean Hannity clips - this logic thing is obviously above your intellectual pay grade.
