Default Michigan is going to send the first Muslim woman to the US Congress

Michigan is going to send the first Muslim woman to the US Congress in November.

She's got it in for Rump..she got booted from one of his rallies for standing up to him and calling him out publically in protest.

Is this gonna be fun or what?

Pathetic that people can't seem to follow very simple rules. Either by incompetency or they just don't seem to give a ****.

It was an accident.

But I'm guessing you're less but hurt about the alleged rule violation than the thread topic itself.

So it was incompetency. Got it.

As far the topic goes. I think it is awesome! I wish her nothing but success in her candidacy.

No dumbass it’s due to toggling back and forth between two screens. It’s called “human error”. There are 14 browser windows open on this computer.

What’s “pathetic” is getting your knickers in a twist and taking it as an opportunity for some false rage, especially since “following simple rules” stops for you at the White House but matters for something this trivial.

Simmer down skippy. You are the one breaking house rules. Pretty pathetic for someone here as long as you have been.

Suck it up buttercup and move on. Try owning your mistakes. It will serve you well in life.
If you need computer help I can hook you up with Mavis Beacon.

Regarding your politics..we agree much, much more than we disagree. My comment was solely dedicated to your posting retardation on the Main Board and not your political leanings.

I don’t want Muslims in Washington anymore than I want Christians in Washington. I’d much prefer people running our government who are intelligent enough to not believe in magical creator beings.

No surprise. Lots of Muslims in Michigan.

I agree with Agamemnon - I want fact-based rational people in Congress, not believers in ancient myths.

I gotta say, I'm kinda with you on that Ags. I wish there was an even greater separation of church and state. That doesn't mean I don't think it's fine for people to have their religions, that's fine, and I know our congress will never be 100% Atheist but I think it's way too easy for congress members to allow their feelings of religion help shape our laws. Not good. However, that said, there are a billion Christians in congress so maybe it's ok to have some members of other faith in there until that day comes where people can keep their faith works to until after they get off of work.

In the United States, freedom of religion is a constitutionally protected right provided in the religion clauses of the First Amendment. Freedom of religion is also closely associated with separation of church and state, a concept advocated by Colonial founders such as Dr. John Clarke, Roger Williams, William Penn and later founding fathers such as James Madison and Thomas Jefferson.

There is a vast difference between having a religion you believe in and making it the central focus of your political philosophy. You can't ban people from politics for having religious beliefs, and numerous Presidents have been Christians of various stripes.

That, however, is not what these current religious right extremists are about. They're interested in mandating their brand of religious beliefs for everyone. We don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. In this current thread, the Muslim woman who won her seat in Congress did so from an African American district, and she herself is not black. The majority of blacks are Christian, not Muslim, yet they voted for her. Listening to her, it seems pretty apparent she's in there not to express her Muslim beliefs, but to represent a political voice that speaks for the people this administration is trying to marginalize further. In other words, her Muslim faith seems to have nothing to do with why she ran for office. That is the kind of political representation we need, as opposed to having a litmus test that eliminates anyone who's religious.
