Sorry dude, but believing in Anarcho-Communism lays somewhere between tooth fairy and easter bunny.

Is it really that difficult to wrap your head around the qualification, "in an ideal world"? As long as humans continue to display pathological levels of selfishness it's simply not possible. I've been pretty clear on that Beav. Stop being so intellectually dishonest.

Asking Beaver to stop being intellectually dishonest is like asking the proverbial leopard to change his spots.

Hmmm...good point...on the other hand:

1) Homosexuality in the US was still a crime in every state until 1962 and it remained so in 14 states until 2003 when the Supreme Court overturned the constitutionality of sodomy laws.

2) Alcohol was banned here during prohibition from 1920-1933. Only when it proved to be an unenforcible law was it rescinded. It's still illegal to make your own moonshine.

3) The first states to legalize pot, Colorado and Washington, did so in 2012.

4) Crack cocaine possession laws targeting blacks with sentences that delivered the same prison sentence (average 13 years) as the powder in amounts 100 times larger were reduced in 2010.

"Christian" values were in play all this time in the US.

WE have the largest prison population in the world.

LABF says it's not true so it must be fake news.

Yeah, it does sound odd. Lots of American expats living there working in the oil industry.

I think this story is in enough news media to say it's a true story. Maybe we don't have all the facts, but I think it's true.

Probably. But it's also possible that the woman is FOS. For all we know she was detained for being drunk and belligerent along with having an expired visa.

Why do we even care? She's not an American so it really is a non-issue for us.

I think it’s real because the Dubai government apologized and paid for her flight home. Just some bad immigration officers.
