Trust him, I do not.

Activists from the Internet Party of Ukraine, dressed as Star Wars characters, hold a party congress in Kiev March 29, 2014. The party announced that its leader "Darth Vader" submitted documents to the Ukrainian Central Elections Commission to register as a candidate for Ukraine's May 25 presidential election.

I know it's an old story, but I enjoyed reading it again and so may you. Just ran across it again today and thought it worthy of the junk thread . I'm sure there's someone out there who never got a chance to read it before or may like to read it again. It is the NFL draft season...

Coming Soon: A Telescope Large Enough to Spot Alien Life

Construction is about to begin for an area that will house the largest telescope ever constructed on Earth: the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT). Yes, the name is sort of hilarious, but its not lying either. The E-ELT is going to be ten times larger than any other surface telescope and sensitive enough to be able to spot life outside of our solar system.

It will allow us, for the first time, to directly observe planets outside the solar system

NEW INVENTION: Physics-exploiting axe splits wood in record time.

A new kind of axe that makes it much easier and safer. Yes, axes have existed since time immemorial, but apparently there’s still room for improvement.

It’s essentially acting as a lever instead of a wedge (Vipukirves translates as Leveraxe). A regular axe needs to be driven downward with enough force to separate wood along the grain. That’s a lot of force, and if a log is hit off center, the axe blade can deflect at unexpected angles. That’s not good — your squishy flesh is much easier to split
