Yep....Seems to be a pattern with Callahan coached teams. Kinda like the Super Bowl team that came back and quit on him going 4-12 in 2003. That is why I believe he was a horrible hire. As far as X's and O's go he might be a good football mind but when players quit on you it means you are a poor leader and leadership is the most important characteristic for a head coach by a long shot. You can always get OC's and DC's to do the X's and O's for you at a high level but you can't hire anybody to give you leadership. He was a high risk gamble that a traditional power like Nebraska had no business taking. Gambling on a guy like that is something that a non-football power does because they have to not a Nebraska. |
