!! I remembered this when he posted it.

Anaheim Ducks 3 vs. Redwings 1

Hiller was as good as the few shots he had to defend. Two good goalies on the Ducks. Fasth will be no UFA in the offseason. Signed a nice contract to stick around Anaheim.

Fasth prior to getting a 2 year 5.8 million contract:

9 wins, 0 losses, 1.75 GAA, 0.93% save

Fasth after getting a year 5.8 million contract:

7 wins, 6 losses, 2.53 GAA, 0.91% save

It is so sad when you buy a lemon, the irony being that his numbers after signing that nice juicy contract are worse than Jonas Hiller's. So the Ducks are paying 7.4 million for 2 average goaltenders. But, at least they managed to trade Deslausrier for future considerations.

Hiller had the same save percentage as the post contract of Fasth. Ducks are going with the hot hand. There are no back to back games so Hiller will take to the distance. No vertigo for Hiller this season. Is it in the back of the minds of the front office? PO\ossibly or they wouldn't extend Fasth. Still think he is a good goalie.

Fasth is a good goalie if he keeps it up, but seeing such a sharp decline post big contract signing is a bit of a worry and I think it is the main reason Hiller won back the starting gig. Hiller is good, if he can keep playing and not suffer any attacks he is probably a top 10 starting goalie and definitely top 15. I think Fasth was signed both to provide some backup if Hiller goes down unexpectedly, especially with the large cash commitment to Getzlaf and Perry and the fact that Hiller has 1 more year on his deal.

I am just busting your chops.

Lol...they are just toying with the Isles. I hope Neal is ok. I have to say I'm really impressed with what Jussi Jokinen has done since he arrived....and Carolina is paying part of his salary.

I'm happy Beau-ner got the nod ahead of TK...I was worried Bylsma would be too stubborn to make the right move. The Morrow-Sutter-Cooke line is really giving Tavares a tough time.

Thug Isles hurting Jokinen......someone please take a stick to Tavares throat. Thuggery must be repaid. I'm sure Reasoner will be suspended.

Neal likely out Game 3
Jokinen OK and practicing
Sid back with 1st line and 1st PP unit in practice. If I had to bet I'd bet Game 3.

Your welcome, I hope you guys win the cup so we get your 2nd round pick.

Juice has been notorious for riding high after a change of scenery, so don't expect this to extend beyond next season.

That's fine. Dude is playing great right now.....Sutters line also frustrated the hell out of Tavares. I'm hearing Sid could play tomorrow and Sunday at worst.

Honestly if everyone could just be healthy for 2 months they shouldn't lose 4 games in aa series to anyone...including Chicago.

Dupuis-Crosby-Iginla
Kunitz-Malkin-Neal
Morrow-Sutter-Bennett
Cooke-Jokinen-Glass

Letang-Martin
Niskanen-Murray
Orpik-Engelland/Despres/Eaton

Flower-Vokoun

Really this is the best Penguin team since 93. They could be better than 93..maybe. Of course the 93 team got upset so there is always a chance but I truly believe if they can stay healthy they shouldn't lose a series to anyone.

Their game plan was tremendous tonight. Oates had them ready and even Alzner mentioned they saw things on tape that they exploited in the game.

It's a far cry from the no adjustments, boudreau days.

Now comes the hard part. Torts is too good of a coach, the rangers will be ready. We will see how the caps adjust to the rangers adjustments.

Great first game though.

and SoCalBronco and Ray Finkle, I know I know; rivals. However, I'm just saying it's funny because they don't have a damn Cup. It would be nice if they would breakthrough JUST ONCE in my lifetime

Oh one more thing - the Isles are a ****ing joke.

I was hoping to play them because their defense sucks ass and they are totally not ready for playoff level type games.

The pens could really set a record for most goals in a series against that defense (yes, even in 4 games; without Crosby).

And Nabokov sucks in big game situations as well...

STL scores very late to win it and go up 2-0.

DET pummeling ANA so far.

RedskinBronco.....I get the feeling that a Pens Caps ECF is inevitable. I know it's early but that's the gut feeling I'm getting.

Yes, but bull**** penalty at end of regulations. That cost the Ducks the game now with :02 seconds left in power play. Ducks player gets taken down and tackled and no call but less than a minute and Detroit egg on a penalty by slashing and Ducks get a cross checking call.

usually the zebras ease into playoff hockey, but I've noticed every team is getting away with murder in every series. the wings especially tonight.

How do you get rid of all that talent intime to tank for McDavid ? Or will the NHL just open the draft lottery to everyteam by then ?

Maybe another closed-door lottery? Seemed to work last time.

That's an idea worth exploring.

Neal out tonight, Sid in.
