Reported to be about 100 ft., but it's pretty subjective. The only evidence is this picture. The old record was a 78 ft. wave, set by the same guy.

b. How do you even get off shore to challenge those waves? I know in some larger wave areas, they get towed out by wave-runners, but that doesn;t look possible in this scenario.

Probably dropped by helicopter. These guys will fly in if there is reports of massive swells. This isn't a local dude but a professional. He asks us not to try this at home.

As a surfer, that man has balls. It gets overhead and smashing against a reef, I have second thoughts about dropping in.

A trick I use when fishing is to hold your arm out straight toward the camera with the fish in your hand. Makes the fish look a lot bigger.

I thought the same thing. Looks like that board is too small. Big wave riders don't use little freestyle whip boards.
