I know it's a week early, and I'm not trying to overlook 1-AA Nicholls State, but I think there is a certain team in california on everyones' mind.
Seconday, secondary, secondary...that's what it is going to come down to. The Bowman injury is going to hurt us in a couple weeks when we travel to USC. It will only be the second start for Booty, but he looked pretty danged comfortable by the second half of the Arkansas game yesterday. I have accepted the fact that we will be giving up a lot of points to USC. The question is whether we will be giving up 28-35 points or 42-56 points. I think our offense can put up some points of their own and could get us 30+ points. Establishing the run will be the most important thing on offense. We need to control the clock and keep their offense off the field. Make them pass underneath, take 5-6 minutes to score. And of course, don't turnover the ball. Arkansas would have led at the half if they hadn't coughed up the ball so many times. This is going to be a major test, and we'll probably lose. That being said, if our offense can produce, the front seven create some pressure, and the secondary can keep the big plays to a minimum, we have a shot. And who would have thought that two years ago.
